What are you storing in your body? Find out... Tight shoulders, clenched jaws, rounded backs… these days, who doesn’t suffer? But what we often don’t realize is that our bodies coil and tighten not only from wear and tear, but also from emotions and feelings we fail to process. Let our experienced therapists do the work you can’t. As they surface and soothe what lingers within, relax and let the healing powers of massage take over.

Acupuncture:
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles at specific points on the body. The selected points are based on a comprehensive diagnosis. The point prescription coupled with the proper technique stimulates movement of energy within the body, allowing healing to take place and promoting emotional well-being. Acupuncture is also used as preventative medicine, strengthening immunity and supporting overall health.

Swedish:
Massage therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing. If you've never had massage before, this is a good one to try first.

Deep Tissue:
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. People often feel sore for one to two days after deep tissue massage.

Polarity:
A technique of gently rocking, holding and massaging to stimulate relaxation, restore energy flow and encourage revitalization.

Reflexology:
Although reflexology is sometimes called foot massage, it is more than simple foot massage. Reflexology involves applying pressure to certain points on the foot that correspond to organs and systems in the body. Reflexology is very relaxing.

Reiki:
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

Acupressure:
Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life force to aid healing. Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points, but acupuncture employs needles, while acupressure uses the gentle but firm pressure of hands (and even feet).

Shiatsu:
Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork that uses localized finger pressure in a rhythmic sequence on acupuncture meridians. Each point is held for 2 to 8 seconds to improve the flow of energy and help the body regain balance. People are normally pleasantly surprised when they try shiatsu for the first time. It is relaxing yet the pressure is firm, and there is usually no soreness afterwards.

Prenatal:
Also called pregnancy massage, prenatal massage is becoming increasingly popular with expectant mothers. Prenatal massage helps to reduce stress, decrease swelling, relieve aches and pains, and reduce anxiety and depression. The massage is customized to a woman's individual needs.

Sports:
Sports massage is specifically designed for people who are involved in physical activity. But you don't have to be a professional athlete to have one––it's also used by people who are active and work out often. The focus isn't on relaxation but on preventing and treating injury and enhancing athletic performance.

Trigger Point:
Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. Sometimes massage and trigger point therapy are performed together.

Cranial Sacral:
Nurtures and supports the nervous system, brain and spinal cord through a series of gentle sustained contacts that release tension, ease pain and allow the body to get in tune with itself. Especially beneficial for chronic pain, post traumatic stress, tinnitus, vertigo and headaches. Patients are fully clothed.

Hot Stone:
Heated, smooth stones are placed on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and balance energy centers in the body. The massage therapist may also hold stones and apply gentle pressure with them. The warmth is comforting. Hot stone massage is good for people who have muscle tension but prefer lighter massage.
