ACROYOGA:
All levels, all ages, all people are welcome to join the AcroYoga Community. This class provides a safe environment to explore trust, connection and playfulness. We will combine elements from Yoga, Acrobatics, and Thai Massage. The experience will begin in circle meditation, flow through seated and standing partner asana, spotted inversion work, and partner flying series, ending with guided Thai massage. Students are requested to have familiarity with yoga.
ANUSARA/ANUSARA INSPIRED:
Anusara classes blend a spiritual context to awaken and celebrate the heart with the Universal Principles of Alignment, which bring the body toward its optimal muscular, skeletal, and energetic blueprint.
BAPTISTE
A Baptiste Yoga class is a strong flow asana sequence done in a heated room (about 90 degrees). This class focuses on a combination of deep breathing and specifically sequenced sets of flowing yoga postures. Classes are open to all levels; newer students will be able to modify poses and work on building a solid and safe foundation while more experienced students will be offered advanced variations to explore their edge. A Baptiste Yoga class is an opportunity to breathe, move with your body, sweat, explore and have fun.
FORREST YOGA:
Based on the teachings of Ana Forrest, Forrest Yoga connects you to your core – getting strong and centered. It uses heat, deep breathing and vigorous sequences to sweat out toxins while the long holds in the pose progressions help you flush, oxygenate, rejuvenate, and heal.
GENTLE HATHA/GENTLE FLOW:
Incorporates restorative asana into a slow, meditative, calm practice. Perfect for beginners or advanced students to welcome soft openings and mind-body awareness.
HATHA:
Traditional asana (postures) are held in accurate alignment. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, and breath control. Based on physical postures, deep breathing, mindfulness, and listening to the body.
HATHA FLOW:
This class will teach the practitioner to build skills into flowing sequences with a focus on combining breath with movement. Students will learn to refine postures and move beyond the limitations of the body and mind.
IYENGAR:
Based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. Learn proper alignment. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility, and balance as well as breath awareness. Includes vinyasa, restorative, and the use of props.
JIVAMUKTI:
A challenging form of Hatha Yoga taught in a vinyasa style, which incorporates chanting of Sanskrit mantra and weaves spiritual teachings from source texts into the physical instruction of the asana.
KIDS YOGA
Hour long kids class incorporates song and story into the exploration of developmentally adapted yoga poses. Using their imagination, your child wiLL co-create yoga stories with the teacher and his/her peers to build strength and confidence, develop body awareness, foster focus and communication, encourage relaxation, and most importantly inspire fun! Ages 4-. Children must be potty-trained and accompanied by an adult. Adult must remain at the studio for the duration of the class.
POWER FLOW
PRENATAL:
This gentle class is designed to reduce the aches and pains which accompany pregnancy, in a nurturing and supportive environment. We will focus on special breathing techniques, opening the hips, and preparing the body for birth.
RESTORATIVE YOGA:
Restoratives are meditative poses in which the body is supported with props and held for extended periods of time. Both soothing and regenerating, restorative poses help bring balance to our demanding daily lives.
SHADOW YOGA:
Shadow Yoga, founded by yoga master Zhander Remete, is a Hatha Yoga system designed to integrate the common principles of yoga asana, martial arts, South Indian dance and Ayurvedic/Siddha medicine.
VINYASA AND VINYASA FLOW:
Also Bhakti Flow, Radiant Flow and Mellow Flow
A dynamic system of practicing asana, linking breath to movement. Builds heat, endurance, flexibility, strength and concentration. Sequencing is often built around sun salutations.
YIN
Yin yoga is a deeply meditative practice where postures are held for an extended period of time.
YOGA FOR KIDS (age 5-13):
Yoga is an amazing tool to promote self-awareness, self-esteem, body awareness and ultimately Self-Love. When yoga is presented to children these things are nurtured and supported. Plus kids love it because yoga is fun.
