Yoga Tree is proud to offer the most comprehensive prenatal and postnatal for moms in San Francisco. Our classes and workshops are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of women at all stages of pregnancy and beyond. The classes are appropriate for all experience levels.

Preparing for Childbirth with Yoga with Jane Austin & Britt Fohrman

Every six weeks, we also hold a special, three-hour-long workshop called Prenatal Partners. In this workshop, you and your partner will learn techniques for breath awareness, partner poses and massage, which can help strengthen and relax your body; and sooth your mind during the birth process. Additionally, these approaches will give you the opportunity to connect more deeply to yourself, your partner, and your baby. You will also explore visualization and relaxation techniques that can further assist you during childbirth. Yoga is an excellent way to prepare the mind, body and spirit for the many transitions of pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood. One hour before this workshop, please eat a light meal and bring a snack with you.

The cost is $70 per couple and registration for each session is limited to 18 couples in order to assure unique, personal attention for everyone.

After the birth of your baby, you are welcomed back to Yoga Tree. The Mom & Baby (pre-crawling) classes are a fun way to reconnect to your body, rebuilding strength and soothing achy muscles while at the same time enjoy time with your babe. It a great place to meet other new moms! You are more than welcome to bring extra blankets, stuffed animals, and your stroller into the studio during these classes.

This workshop is designed to educate both pregnant women and yoga teachers on how to safely practice yoga throughout pregnancy.

The workshop will include:

  • The effects of pregnancy on the body
  • The benefits of yoga in pregnancy
  • Common discomforts
  • Modifying yoga postures
  • What poses to avoid
  • Appropriate pranayama (breath) practices

This workshop is appropriate for not only those new to yoga but to seasoned practitioners and to anyone interested in understanding the complex changes that occur in pregnancy.

Immerse yourself in the study of yoga for the childbearing year! This 40-hour comprehensive training will include how to teach yoga to women in all stages or pregnancy and thought the early stages of postpartum. The training will explore yoga as a tool in preparation for not only childbirth, but for motherhood!
