A jewel of a studio set in the heart of the Mission. Join us for donation-based classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30. Why is the schedule so limited? This location is the heart of our many teacher trainings and workshops. The best teachers from Yoga Tree and around the world join us here to share their knowledge with our beautiful community. And all are welcome from beginners to yoga to seasoned yogis.
The warm and inviting studio is energized by the beautiful yantras, statues and crystals that surround the space. There is also a back room for rest and relaxation, and a sunny deck where lunch can be enjoyed during long training days. We look forward to welcoming you.

Sarah Reed teaches an alignment based Vinyasa class. She enjoys the way alignment can teach strength through balance, purpose and acceptance. Students can expect a challenging, flowing sequence, an abdominal component, and assists and cues that build healthy foundations for the common as well as some of the more technically elusive poses.
Her yoga teaching style is influenced by Elise Lorimer, Pete Guinosso and Jill Ableson as well as the work of Joseph Pilates and Thomas Myers. Sara was trained in a large and diverse group of modalities (Pilates, yoga, massage and coaching) that come together in what she calls the “yoga of everyday life” which she shares in her classes as well as through her coaching business: Sex, Health, and Rock’n’Roll (www.sexhealthandrocknroll.com).

Born and raised in ashrams in California, England and India, Kirtan grew up with the languages, music and philosophies of India. At the age of 13 he first entered public schools and went on to become a high school football All-Star, then a rugby player at UCLA, destroying his body in the process. That suffering led him back to yoga, with on campus classes taught by Shiva Rea. After graduating in International Relations he moved to Brazil. He completed his first Hatha Yoga TT with the renowned Brazilian teacher Regina Shakti in 2003 in her mountain ashram, then moved to an idyllic island off the coast of Rio De Janeiro to work as teacher, outdoor guide and manager for BodySoul Adventures.
After a decade in Brazil a deep yearning to dedicate himself full-time to studying yoga and healing arts brought him to New York. Enrolling in the first ever 500-hr Urban Zen Integrative Therapist program in 2009 was a dream come true. Studying under a faculty that included Rodney Yee, Colleen Saidman Yee, Richard Freeman, Mary Taylor, Richard Rosen and master healers profoundly affected his life.
He was chosen to introduce Urban Zen classes to Yoga Works in NYC in 2013 as well as several Urban Zen teacher trainings. After seven years in New York City, he is elated to be back in California. His classes emphasize alignment, sacred strength and devotion. Expect hands-on adjustments or gentle Reiki healing hands.
