Basic 200-Hour Certification
Six Month Intensive
As a student in our six-month intensive, you will meet weekends for six months. Each weekend you will go deep into the practice of yoga, enhancing your knowledge and honing your practice in a wide range of topics-from alignment and anatomy to philosophy and meditation. In addition to your weekend studies, you will also be required to maintain an intensive yoga practice during the week. Once you graduate from this program you will be eligible for membership with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 RYT level.

Topics of Study:
During the training, you will be exposed to a wide range of topics and skills that will help you to deepen your practice and prepare you to teach. Completing this program will also give you the hours in the required subjects you need to join The Yoga Alliance or The Yoga Foundation.
Free Yoga!
One of the greatest benefits of participating in the Yoga Tree Teacher Training program is free yoga during the course of your training. Because you will be required to practice for six hours each week in addition to attending your weekend classes, you may take free classes for the length of the program with many of the Yoga Tree Teachers. This not only allows you to deepen your connection to the teachers teaching in the program, but also to experience the wide variety of styles offered at Yoga Tree; perhaps enabling you to take a class that you normally wouldn’t. Many trainees have reported dramatic shifts in their practice due to incorporating learned anusara principles into their regular vinyasa practice; or raving about the now understood benefits of restorative yoga. Without the offering of such a wide variety of styles to choose from; they may never have experienced the different styles. There is one very important restriction, however. All free classes are space permitting. If a class is sold out you must forfeit your space or pay the regular drop in rate if you choose to stay. This is to ensure that the teacher, who is generously offering you a free class, is compensated.

Prerequisite
No formal experience is required to enroll in the Yoga Tree Teacher Training program. However, we do recommend that you have had at least one year of regular practice prior to the start of the course. Participating in this training will be a profound experience, taking you to places in your body and mind that you never thought possible.
A flexible body free of injuries is NOT a requirement for this training. In fact, WE ENCOURAGE people with all body types and those with physical challenges to consider this program. At its heart, yoga is a practice of meeting the body where it is, and then working with the body to slowly and respectfully move deeper. The struggles and challenges you will face through the course of this training will only make you a better teacher. If you are waiting for the day when you can finally get your foot behind your head, to become a teacher or commit to take your practice to the next level, you may be denying yourself the opportunity of a lifetime.
One Month Intensive
To live yoga all day, every day for a month is a powerful way to understand yoga as it has been practiced in the ashrams of India for thousands of years. During this one month intensive you will go deep into the practice of yoga, enhancing your knowledge and honing your practice in a wide range of topics-from alignment and anatomy to philosophy and meditation
During the course of this month and for one month following the intensive, you will have access to free yoga classes at Yoga Tree so that you develop your practice even more. Once you graduate from this program you will be eligible for membership with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 RYT level.
