Stephanie Lucero, RYT-500, was introduced to yoga after being advised to take a break from playing sports because of multiple sports-related injuries. She was a collegiate tennis player who also grew up competing in soccer, golf, and gymnastics. When she started practicing yoga, she noticed numerous benefits including improvement in her strength, flexibility, and focus. She also became more in tune with her mind and body. She is extremely passionate about yoga, and this drives her to share the benefits of yoga with others. She believe that consistent yoga practice allows people both to improve their health and achieve their true potential.
Originally from Boston, Stephanie now lives in San Francisco and teaches yoga full time. She teaches vinyasa that are fun and empowering as well as hatha flow classes that challenge practitioners to work their way to difficult poses including arm balances and inversions. She also teaches relaxing yin/restorative classes that include calming meditations. Her classes emphasize the importance of mindfulness, encouraging compassionate movement with each asana. She has extensively studied alignment, anatomy, and the philosophy of yoga, and she incorporates these principles into her yoga classes. Stephanie is also an independent licensed clinical social worker and provides yoga to people suffering from addiction and mental health disorders.
