Overview
The Yoga Tree Teacher Training program is a 200-hour Level One certification program carefully designed for serious students of yoga who want to deepen their practice as well as for those students who wish to become teachers themselves. As a student in our training program, you will meet three weekends a month for six months. Each weekend you will go deep into the practice of yoga, enhancing your knowledge and honing your practice in a wide range of topics-from alignment and anatomy to philosophy and meditation.
Prerequisites
No formal experience is required to enroll in the Yoga Tree Teacher Training program. However, we do recommend that you have had at least one year of regular practice prior to the start of the course. Participating in this training will be a profound experience, taking you to places in your body and mind that you never thought possible. You will be required to practice for at least six hours per week in addition to of commitment to yoga is not something you should undertake lightly. Please make sure you have done enough yoga to know it is something with which you truly want to spend time.
Free Yoga!
One of the greatest benefits of participating in the Yoga Tree Teacher Training program is free yoga during the course of your training. Because you will be required to practice for six hours each week in addition to attending your weekend classes, you may take free classes for the length of the program with many Yoga Tree Teachers. You may take all other Yoga Tree classes for just $8-half the price of a regular drop-in. There is one very important restriction, however. All free and discounted classes are space permitting. If a class is sold out you must forfeit your space or pay the regular drop in rate if you choose to stay. This is to ensure that the teacher, who is generously offering you a free class is compensated.
NOTE:
A flexible body free of injuries is NOT a requirement for this training. In fact, WE ENCOURAGE people with all body types and those with physical challenges to consider this program. Yoga is at heart a practice of meeting the body where it is at, and then working within yourself to slowly and respectfully move deeper. The struggles and challenges you will face through the course of this training will only make you a better teacher. If you are waiting for the day when you can finally get your foot behind your head to become a teacher or commit to take your practice to the next level, you may be denying yourself the opportunity of a lifetime.
Next Session starts September 19, 2008.
