The Lighting the Path Teacher Training program is a life-changing course of study for dedicated yoga students and aspiring teachers. Lighting the Path Teacher Training prepares you to be an authentic and heart-centered yoga teacher, offering compassionate and accessible vinyasa classes for all levels of students. Vigorous morning yoga intensives guide you deeper into your own practice and life purpose, while afternoon instructional sessions cover an extensive yoga teacher curriculum, including cueing, sequencing, hands-on assists, working with injuries, demonstration techniques, vocal presence, yoga philosophy and history, the business of yoga, ethics, and anatomy. The LTP program includes a variety of teaching methods so that you can learn, practice and embody the material. This includes demonstration, lecture, talking circles, group processes, and partner practice. You will receive personalized attention, guidance, and feedback directly from Pete Guinosso and his highly qualified assisting staff and senior guest faculty. Process work helps you to connect to your own heart’s wisdom and find your authentic voice as a teacher. Deep connection with the community of trainees and trainers gives you the support you need during and after the training to be successful in establishing yourself as a teacher and throughout your yoga career. LTP trainees begin teaching on day one, initially teaching to other students and gradually building up to teach a group public class under Pete’s guidance. The program’s teaching focus helps trainees become adaptable and knowledgeable teachers for a wide variety of students. This training is ideal for serious students of yoga and aspiring teachers, as well as current yoga teachers looking to add additional skills to their teaching. Upon completion of this training, you are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200 teacher. You will also be able to enroll in Lighting the Path’s 300-hour teacher training course and/or the LTP mentorship program. Over the course of six months, you will learn how to:
• Inspire students by teaching from your own heart’s wisdom
• Be emotionally intelligent and present with your students
• Effectively sequence for, and safely adjust, an all-levels class
• Incorporate themes and intentions into your teaching and practice
• Cue and instruct so your students stay present in their practice
• Feel confident working with common conditions and injuries
• Create a supportive and caring environment in your classes

Practice is the cornerstone of your experience of yoga. What and how you practice determines what you will ultimately gain from it. If practice is going to carry you to its ultimate promise, it will need to balance three things: 1) stability; 2) the light of self-awareness and; 3) the fire of divine or spiritual awakening. Thus, for practice to provide the ultimate reward, it must be systematic, and include a gradual progression, employing different techniques at different times to help you mature/evolve, both in and out of your practice.
To these ends, the tradition provides seven threads of practice. When applied holistically, these seven timeless principles lead to spiritual awakening, greater joy, fearlessness, wisdom, self-reliance, ultimate freedom and fulfillment.
This weekend will provide practical theories and techniques that will allow you to live the answers to the question: What do the insights of the great traditions of yoga, Tantra and Vedanta tell us about how to use practice to best prepare for life and ultimately, spiritual fulfillment?
This deeply experiential weekend of tantric hatha yoga focuses on the stages of practice on the enlightened path of yoga: how we engage its wealth of practices to unfold our spiritual potential safely, methodically and intelligently, and how we master the balance of power and wisdom internally and externally. Along with asana, bandha,pranayama and meditation, sessions will also include theory as to how you ideally impact your body, mind, energy and soul.

Every day, infants are born with critical and life threatening conditions. The NICN is an innovative bedside and research program that has transformed brain-focused care and aims to improve neurodevelopmental outcomes for the most vulnerable babies.

This 45-hour comprehensive Level 1 training will include how to teach yoga to women in all stages of pregnancy and throughout the early stages of postpartum. The training will explore yoga as a tool in preparation for not only childbirth, but for motherhood!
Whether or not you have the goal to teach, this training is also a fit for you if you work with women in any capacity (doula, midwife, obstetrician + gynecologists, massage therapists, etc.). Also, mamas looking for ways to deepen their own practice will find a lot of benefit in this immersion as will yoga teachers from every discipline.

In addition to these ideal birthing poses, we'll explore movement, meditation, breathing, visualization and HypnoBirthing techniques to deepen relaxation through all phases of the childbearing year. We’ll explore the joyful and meditative journey of singing to the Divine through call-and-response, which creates a bridge between the individual and the eternal, opening the heart and welcoming the spirit. By singing these prayers, we unite our voices and join in a stream of consciousness and devotion that has been flowing for centuries. Join Janet Stone and friends for an exploration of bhakti/devotion. We’ll chant, chant, chant and drink in the wisdom of many a guest musician who will share their experience and interpretation of bhakti.
We will explore:
• Mantra and meaning
• How to lead chanting
• Basic harmonium skills
• Stories of the deities/aspects of the self we invoke through chanting
• What devotion means in our own lives
• Expression through sound and voice
• English translations of Sanskrit chants
• Intention and sound
Each day will include a morning practice with musical accompaniment, followed by discussion, sharing, and lots of chanting.
Training option
Teachers receive 30 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education credit (22 contact hours and 8hours of credit from assigned self-study). This program qualifies towards the Janet Stone Yoga or Yoga Tree 500- and 1000-hour Teacher Training programs.
Approximately 1 hour of homework or group work will be assigned after each session and follow-up reflections and writings will also be required.

*No credit given if the Friday evening class is missed ("use it or lose it"). If taking this training for Continuing Education credit and the Friday evening class is missed, you'll need to make up the class in order to receive credit. You'll need to pay the standard class fee for the make up class, which can be any of Janet's public classes.

Janet Stone’s studentship began at 17 under the meditation teachings of Prem Rawat. His reverence for simplicity and finding joy in the rise and fall of life live on in her practice and teaching today. In 1996, she traveled to India, the birthplace of her grandfather, and became dedicated to the path of yoga. Janet blends the alchemy of her own practice with decades of studentship. She aspires not to teach but to allow the practice to emanate from her, letting awareness blend with movement and breath. Based in San Francisco, she leads immersions, retreats, workshops and more. Prenatal Partners Jane Austin $80 per couple Yoga is an excellent way to prepare the mind, body and spirit for the many transitions of pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood. In this workshop, you will learn techniques for breath awareness, partner poses and massage, which can help strengthen and relax your body, and sooth your mind during the birth process.
Additionally, these approaches will give you the opportunity to connect more deeply to yourself, your partner and your baby. We will also explore visualization and relaxation techniques that can further assist you during childbirth.
Please eat a light meal one hour before class, and bring a snack.
This session is limited to 21 couples and sells out up to two months in advance; pre-registration is REQUIRED.
Jane Austin has worked with pregnant women and their families since 1990. She weaves her experience as a midwife, doula, childbirth educator, and mother into the training. She is a certified yoga teacher and currently teaches pre- and postnatal yoga in San Francisco. It is her vision to bring yoga to all pregnant women. By training teachers to work with these women, Jane hopes that more women will find the benefits of yoga for themselves, their babies, and their families.

(415) 647-9707 $45 per session Open and tune into the pelvic floor, while igniting the strength, suppleness and juiciness within this in this mysterious and powerful part of our bodies. You’ll learn how to use gentle and restorative yoga poses, along with yogic breathing, sounding and simple meditation techniques to deepen your connection to your pelvic floor muscles. This practice can be very useful in releasing tension and trauma; decreasing discomfort and dysfunction; while increasing circulation, relaxation, optimal function, strength and pleasure throughout our lives. As we become more embodied, the pleasurable possibilities increase! This exploration is open to self-identified women of all ages and life stages, and is especially relevant for the preconception, prenatal and postpartum times. Britt Fohrman's greatest joy is found in sharing her love of yoga with a wide variety of people. She encourages her students to approach yoga as a way of life, to practice with a beginner's mind, with loving kindness and with sincerity. Her unique style of teaching places a strong emphasis on alignment, sequencing, breath and inner awareness, while her approach is imbued with warmth, humor and honesty. Since 1993, Britt has studied primarily Iyengar Yoga, though she weaves influences of other traditions, especially Viniyoga and Vipassana (Buddhist Insight) meditation, into her teaching.
Her specialty lies in working with pregnant women and new mothers, where she also employs her skills as a photographer, birth doula, and body worker. Along with being an avid surfer, Britt loves to do headstands on mountaintops and beaches all around the world. After witnessing tremendous healing within herself through Restorative Yoga, Britt was inspired to become certified to teach Restorative Yoga by Judith Lasater. Though she now enjoys an active practice as well, Restorative Yoga continues to be the foundation of her well being.
