Hatha Yoga, In Studio, Restoratives, Vinyasa Flow
I found yoga as a way to heal. Initially finding the time on my mat as a physical workout, it morphed into a practice that helped me to restore mentally and emotionally. The profound effects yoga had on me sparked a desire to spread my passion for yoga to everyone I meet. I enrolled in yoga teacher training and obtained my RYT 200 certification with Yoga Alliance in December 2016, and completed a second 200 hour in July 2017. I love learning, and continue to further my education. I became certified under the Prison Yoga Project to provide yoga to victims of trauma in June 2017. I am continually learning and refining my teaching being under the tutelage of Danni Pomplun, from whom I receive a lot of influence and guidance. I obtained my RYT 500 certification in 2018 through Jason Crandall.Outside of yoga, I have a huge fascination with language and hold a Master's in Linguistics from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. My life can be summarized into four words: yoga, language, cats, and carbs. My classes encourage you to feel your body, with an emphasis on using your breath to feel every inch. As a bonus, you will also be exposed to my (bad) humor. Instead of going through the motions, I encourage you to be present and allow for a mind-body connection. I believe that yoga is a gateway into reclaiming the mind-body connection that is often lost through busy lifestyles, trauma, stress, and other demands of life. Aside from a physical practice, yoga helps you discover how resilient you really are, be that mentally, spiritually, or emotionally.
