The expression and articulation of movement through your body is the key to unlocking the depths of your being. This is the philosophy that Sara lives by and teaches in her yoga classes. Sara was exposed to dance and yoga at a very young age. At 13 Sara experienced her first yoga class and discovered that when movement and breath are synced, muscles engage, and bones align, the depth of your practice is limitless and can go far beyond the physical body. Of course, at age 13, it was simpler: find the breath, connect to the body, discover the pose.

After graduating with a BFA in dance from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Sara went on to complete her first 200hr Yoga Alliance Certification with YogaWorks in 2009. Following her training she felt compelled to pack her bags and travel the world for several months. This was her chance to push her comfort level, meet her edge and crack open her soul. The colors, the vibrancy, the culture, and the history the world had to offer was one of the greatest teachings she could add to her practice. It opened her eyes to how powerful a mindful practice can be both on and off the mat, and it became very clear that teaching yoga was her calling.

Her current teachings are most inspired and influenced by Ana Forrest, who she has studied extensively with. It is through Forrest yoga that Sara has discovered her true, authentic teacher. Sara is currently working towards becoming Forrest certified. She has over 2000+ hours of teaching experience and is currently finishing her 500hr certification. Sara has studied yoga in depth with Maritza, John Friend, Nikki Estrada, Sean Corn, Maty Ezraty, and Rod Stryker.

“It is when we meet our edge that we discover who we really are. Yoga is medicine so allow it to work its magic.”

Sara draws from her dance and yoga background to create intelligently sequenced classes that gracefully synchronize breath and asana movement and emphasize alignment. She believes that through these key elements, a student is able to explore each pose in depth, allowing it to reach its full potential.

Her classes challenge you physically and push you to your edge in a slow and subtle way. Through a variety of asana poses, breath work, and meditation she takes you on a journey that establishes a foundation for building strength, flexibility, and balance in your practice, thereby awakening your spirit both on and off the mat. In return she asks that you open yourself to the experience and embrace every sensation that arises.
