Yoga Tree and True Blue Yoga are launching classes designed for Cancer patients and their caregivers at Yoga Tree’s new therapeutics-focused studio in Potrero Hill, starting on Saturday, September 14th at 1:00 pm. This class is being offered for free by Yoga Tree and True Blue Yoga.
The classes for cancer patients will incorporate gentle yoga poses, meditation and music, to create an integrated mind-body-spirit experience for Cancer patients and their caregivers. Research studies performed at several cancer centers have shown that yoga and other types of mind-body practices, incorporated into the standard of care cancer treatment, can help improve patient outcomes, particularly as it relates to quality-of-life. In particular, several studies have investigated yoga in breast cancer patients where benefits in physical function, as well as indication of improved sleep and fatigue levels have been observed.
The classes will be taught by Julie Locke, co-founder and President of True Blue Yoga. Yoga Tree is thrilled to be offering an integrated Yoga experience specifically tailored for Cancer patients and their caregivers, in hopes that it can improve the quality-of-life for all involved.
In addition to Yoga for Cancer Patients, the Potrero studio offers unique classes such as Therapeutic Yoga, Wall Ropes and Kundalini Flow.
