Doesn’t it feel like the first few months of the year are a write-off? Coming off of the holidays, settling back into the routines of work and life – it feels like I’m only catching my breath now, and it’s already March! And, oops – I forgot all about my New Years intentions.
Spring is a time of renewal, and I would argue the real start to the new year.
When we emerge from our winter hibernation, we shed what weighs us down in order to move forward with clarity. You might already be feeling it in your body: craving a crisp salad when just a week ago all you wanted was a warm stew.
Spring is a ripe time to plant seeds, to envision, to carve out a new path and to take action toward what you want in life. The spring equinox is a perfect time to renew your commitments to yourself for the year. It is known for bringing fertility, abundance and renewal. At this time when nature is charged with the power of new growth, we too can prepare for and harness this wave of energy for our inner harmony, health and evolution. The equinoxes are known to be powerful times of the year for intentions created and inner rhythms adjusted toward health and vitality.
Think of the spring equinox as your New Years do-over.
Yoga Tree has two great workshops to celebrate the equinox and help you reset your intentions for the year. John Rettger and Ewa Litauer are hosting Planting Seeds of Transformation through Hypnotic Restorative Yoga at the Telegraph Studio on Saturday, March 21. This workshop will align your energy with the season through a deeply relaxing, grounding and healing practice that will center and harmonize you through restorative yoga postures, guided imagery, hypnosis and meditative practices.
Eva Monova Rose and Seva Simran Singh have a two-day workshop at the Castro Studio (March 21-22) to cleanse, manifest, and create. This workshop will arouse the Shakti, Bhakti & Kundalini with potent yogic techniques to rejuvenate and purify the body and mind of limiting habits, old emotions and stagnant energy. From this renewed space, your deepest prayers and intentions can manifest. You will be lead through a balancing Vinyasa flow, Kundalini Kriya, intention setting meditation and healing gong relaxation. Though the workshops will build on each other, you can also choose to participate in one day only.
